Dear Pacific GEF Operational and Political Focal Points,

 

The GEF Secretariat has confirmed that they have sent communication regarding each country STAR allocation on the 1st July 2014 to all OFPs and PFPs. For those who may not have received a copy, I am resending it for their information.

 

4 Pacific LDCs were subjected to the new GEF 6 rule of raising the aggregate floor amounts of their STAR to USD 6 million.  This means that these LDCs countries floor amounts would not go below the USD 6 million mark. All remaining PICs are subjected to the normal aggregate floor of USD 4 million.

 

3 PICs have their GEF 6 STAR totals above the USD 7million dollar mark and therefore are not able to move funds between each of the 3 STAR focal areas (Climate Change Mitigation, Biodiversity, and Land Degradation). All other PICs have the flexibility to put all their funding into one of the 3 STAR focal area or simply move portions between the 3 focal areas depending on your needs.

 

I've attached a snapshot analysis of difference between your STAR totals for GEF 5 and 6. Apologies if you already have this.
